Businessman Tom Scott dies after battle with cancer

ONE of Jersey?s most noted entrepreneurs and philanthropists has died.

Former CI Traders chairman Tom Scott died yesterday morning after a long battle with prostate cancer, at the age of 68.

He had been well-known in the Island as a hard-nosed businessman, but he also gave huge amounts of both time and money to various charitable causes.

In recent years, he also became known for his car collections and his bird-fancying, including funding an annual prize for the Jersey Poultry and Ornithological Society?s winter show.
