Acer Iconia Tab A500 ICS update now showing as available for some

Acer IcONIA a500

Acer not too long ago decided to let folks know their Android 4.0 ICS updates for the 7-inch A100 and the 10.1-inch A500 Tabs were well on their way. That said, Acer noted the A500 wouldn't see the update until April 27th in the US or Canada, yet some folks in the forums have already got their OTA update sent out to them.

If you have a Acer Iconia A500, go ahead and check for updates -- you may find it there waiting for you. If you're looking to find out what all the changes are, head on into the Android Central forums where some folks having been going through the update. While most stuff seems intact, notably missing is the Acer added ring which many appreciated on the device but was an Acer customization.

Forty-year old tech taking astronauts into space? Sadly, that's been the current state of our space program. But in the spirit of making one extra, giant leap for mankind, our nation's best and brightest aeronautic minds have been quietly working on a propulsion system designed to power the SLS and its Orion spacecraft payload deeper into the cosmos. The first of 16 planned tests are scheduled to kick off this Wednesday at the agency's Stennis Center in Mississippi and should run through to year-end. Check out the official presser after the break for a fuller breakdown of this evolution in galactic travel.

A Professional Recording Studio in an Unbelievably Tiny Room [Where The Magic Happens]

Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, and The Foo Fighters have something in common with Brooklyn-based musician Neil Shah—they all made great music in a basic home studio. McCartney and Springsteen had a four-track cassette deck, and Dave Grohl used a garage. But Shah's setup is even more limited—his whole studio measures all of 66 square feet. Here's how he made it work. More »

WATCH: Jimmy Kimmel & John Cusack Drink Hand Sanitizer

If you were turned off by teenagers using techniques like "slimming" and "vodka eyeballing," then you're probably not going to be a fan of the latest get-drunk-quick scheme that's sweeping the nation: chugging hand sanitizer (which, by the way, has about the same amount of alcohol as hard liquor).

You've Never Seen Your Console Controllers Like This Before [Image Cache]

Who cares about console controllers? They sit on our floors, are thrown against our walls, and do our bidding. Boring chunks of plastic. But when you x-ray them, they look downright gorgeous, like cyborg jellyfish. More »
